Where did you grow up? I grew up in Rogers Park on the north side of the city.
What company (or companies) did you work at before Scale? I worked at Luna from the time I graduated college in 1983 until I sold the business in 2014.
What is your proudest moment? Work: the journey we had building both Luna and Scale into larger companies with a strong culture. Family: fatherhood in general. I’m super proud of my two boys Shane and Joshua.
Do you have any skills, talents, or hobbies that most people don’t know about? I can touch my nose with my tongue.
If you could be anywhere other than here, right this minute, where would you be? (Don’t overthink it!) I’m in Utah as I write this so probably wouldn’t want to leave here.
When you were 10 years old, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a professional baseball player.

How do you think your colleagues would describe you? Fair, honest, soft spoken.
What’s the most exciting thing on your bucket list? I’m hoping to one day take a safari.
What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working? I love to hike the mountains on a crisp morning.
What are you complimented on most in your work? Strategic thinking and ability to communicate complex issues clearly that is easy to digest.
Where is your favorite place you’ve traveled? Probably Spain but I also love Italy.
What’s your favorite bar or restaurant in your city (Chicago)? Bavettes Steakhouse
What’s your favorite thing about your city (Chicago)? I love going to Wrigley on a nice summer afternoon. Also, riding my bike along the lakefront is pretty great too.
